Hello there! Keeping your website data safe and secure is our top priority at HosterPK, and we believe it's essential that our customers know how to utilize our backup tools. In this guide, we'll walk you through backing up your data using cPanel.
Please Note: This guide is specific to cPanel hosting backups. If you're using Plesk Panel, kindly refer to our article on how to take backup using Plesk Panel. If your cPanel backup option is unavailable, please see how to take a backup without cPanel.
Step-by-Step Guide to Backup Using cPanel
-
Log in to cPanel: The first step is to log into your cPanel account. If you're unsure how to do this, you can find the login details in the email we sent you when you signed up.
-
Locate the Backup Wizard: Once logged in, scroll down to the "Files" section and click the "Backup" icon.
-
Start the Backup Process: Click the "Backup Wizard" button, then click "Backup".
-
Choose Your Backup Type: You can have a full or partial backup here. We recommend a full backup to ensure all your data is saved.
-
Choose Destination and Generate Backup: Choose your backup destination (typically "Home Directory"). After that, click "Generate Backup".
Remember that if your website is large, the backup process might take some time. Don't worry - this is normal! You can continue with your other tasks while the backup completes in the background.
Once you've started the backup process, you can receive an email alert when it's complete. To set this up, enter your email address in the provided field before starting the backup.
- Download Your Backup: After completing your backup, download it to a local location. HosterPK does not permit hosting space for long-term data storage, as explained in our article on why hosting space can't be used for data storage.
